That mess is super contagious…Toxicity causes disease, depression, anger anxiety…all that! Toxicity is like cancer if you feed it it’ll grow!
Starve it so it can go eat off somebody else’s plate. Your allowed to say no to protect your peace, sometimes its all you have left after life beats you down.

If your in a toxic situation please get out. Stress really is the silent killer that leads to all kinds of other serious medical complications. One would be just due to overly stressful situations your body floods with cortisol eating you alive from the inside out. This process leads to chronic inflammation Chronic inflammation leads to disease.

Let me testify right here and now…hop scotch butterscotch makes me hungry but it also satisfies my sweet tooth I struggle with. Peppermint oil helps with multiple levels of pain. Rose oil regulates my skin and gets rid of blotches if you know what I mean it is also a great astringent for all skin types. Rosemary oil is another one I use for pain such ad headaches. Black pepper would be another pain reliever but for things like broken bones.

Tea tree oil cleared up my acne in only a couple days and it’s a natural at destroying bacteria. Pink grapefruit oil along with cinnamon oil helped me loose inches around my abdomen. Slim oil boosted my metabolism rather quickly. Orange and eucalyptus oil give me my morning pick me up like coffee but without the jitters. I also recently started making my own combination blends & I do have a favorite blend I like to call liquid xanax. I use it the most, especially over the last 6 months we have become very close, literally!! I don’t leave home without that or my mask!

I have a blend that cures cold & flu, allergies, asthma attacks, ect. A blend for rashes, to heal wounds, pinkeye, ect. I create my own lotions and perfumes using essential oils. We all know people who go around zapping positive energy from others…

Have you ever been having the best day ever and someone just comes along and ruins it as soon as you see them? They just look like attitude in the dictionary without the picture! Ugh!!!

Many people who we love and allow in our lives drain us and we don’t even realize it. Since this corona virus I have had to be in my home with negative energy people surrounding me. My room is my sanctuary so I purchased a rock from Amazon that is known for clearing out negative energies. Of course I researched it and discovered I was not alone in my feelings.

I will admit I am new to this so I honestly purchased it because I figured what will it hurt and it went with my room decor “bonus.”

I noticed my health started to suffer the consequences…

With that being said I was stressed out, my insomnia was out of control, everyone was complaining, I was short on food, I had to home school my kids, shall I continue?   • Take a relaxing bath with essential oils and epsom salt
  • Talk to some one who will listen
  • Take a walk with a friend “girl talk”
  • Get a pen pal you can tell everything to and will never meet lol
  • Read the bible if your religious or spiritual
  • Find a book you can get lost in and get lost
  • Color
  • Join a group that is related to your struggles so you know your not alone
  • Purchase a energy generator for your home
  • Burn sage
  • Clean your home, rid it of clutter
  • Go camping and become one with nature
  • Create a playlist of songs that make your mood better
  • Go on you tube and find calming music, now take a nap
  • Write a letter to someone you cant stand but never mail it
  • Go in a closet and scream…it really helps
  • Bake
  • Enjoy a movie night with your family…positive vibes invites only
  • Go on a walk paying special attention to nature (the sounds, the animals, take nice deep breaths)
  • Take an online class to feed your brain knowledge “if you don’t use it you’ll loose it”
  • Create a Pinterest account and browse helpful solutions for your problem
  • Create a list of positive affirmations you can tell yourself upon waking and every night
  • Help people in need it just does something to the spirit
  • Create a list of things you want to change in your life
  • Create a goal list and give yourself realistic times to complete each goal

Sometimes we are the problem and don’t even realize it. I was raised with negative people and it rubbed off on me. I was such a happy upbeat person who loved to laugh but when around certain ones I became Debby Downer real fast. One day a close friend of mine pointed it out and I realized I had work to do! Here are some examples of negativity disease & people just carry it with them spreading it everywhere.

  • People who work late normally hate it so they give off negative energy
  • People who complain about any and everything
  • People who exhibit jealous traits
  • People quick to anger
  • People with complicated living arrangements
  • People on drugs or those who drink alcohol
  • People who compare themselves to others
  • People with chaotic schedules
  • People diagnosed with depression
  • People who tend to be highly emotional
  • People with multiple kids and no real help
  • People who absolutely hate their jobs
  • People who don’t clean their homes
  • People who live on social media
  • People who tend to stay in doors and don’t get natural Vitamin D
  • People who brag about helping others
  • People who get upset when you tell them to pray
  • People who have excuses for everything wrong they do
  • People who play the blame game and can never admit fault
  • People who think they are superior to others

As you can see these people are all around us. If you have people like this anywhere but in your home avoid them at all cost. Now if these people live with you, you may want to think about changing up your living situation real soon. I understand you have love for these types of people but you can love lions, tigers, and bears yet understand you shouldn’t bring them into your home. In some cases the people that hurt you the worst are your kids, no worries they are your kids. You can retrain them to be positive by allowing it to reflect in your daily life. Negativity can be reversed it is all learned behavior. Only you are in control of your destiny and happiness. You may not begin your story but you do have a choice to create your own ending.

Ever heard of healing Crystal’s?

I had never ever in my life known about them until very recently. I had been having a hard time with family, friends, my boss, ok… just people in general. Quarantine flab busters

I gained weight!

So I don’t know about you guys but my body decided to pack on pounds while I was in the house stressed out watching the news. I was snacking without thought, preparing meals without measuring ingredients, and my insomnia was working overtime. No sleep means no weightloss or healing for the body. I know we are all on different levels when it comes to fitness but I’m focused on beginners at this time because they will be impacted the most! Check out my suggestions for getting your body back into a state of calmness and your metabolism out of hiding.

This is the Beginner Bodyweight Workout (3 Circuits): 

  • 20 Bodyweight squats.
  • 10 Push-ups.
  • 10 Walking lunges (each leg).
  • 10 Dumbbell rows (use a milk jug or other weight).
  • 15 Second Plank.
  • 30 Jumping jacks.
  • 15 kickbacks

You will do each exercise in succession without a break in between (if you’re able).

  • Once you’ve finished all exercises in the circuit, do it again.
  • If you’re still able after the 2nd run through, go for a third if not you’ll work your way up to a third set.

Before you start, don’t forget to do a warm up– Make sure to get your heart rate pumping and get your muscles warmed or you’re just begging for an injury.

You can run in place, jump rope, do a few push-ups, pedal on a stationary bike, do some punches and kicks, jog up and down your stairs, and/or twist and swing your arms and legs to get them moving!

“HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO THESE WORKOUTS”

Do this routine 2-3 times a week, but never on consecutive days as the body gets used to daily routines & you will loose progress .

You don’t build muscle when you’re exercising, it’s actually when you’re resting, so try not to do a strength training routine (of the same muscle groups) two days in a row.

I like to follow a training pattern of:

  • Strength training on one day…
  • 20 minutes of interval training the next.
  • Strength training again…
  • Then back to my interval training or rest!
  • Then comes the progress I wanted to see!!

Here’s some suggestions for additional weightloss…

  • Hiking
  • Playing outdoor games with kids
  • Basketball
  • Walking instead of driving
  • Cleaning party
  • Volunteer
  • Play at the park
  • Take the dog for a longer walk or an additional walk
  • Have sex
  • Dance like nobodies watching
  • Get a massage
  • Get more sleep
  • Take a healthy cooking class
  • Try new healthy recipies
  • Have a date night
  • Create a buddy bootcamp
  • Jump on a trampoline
  • Have a scavenger hunt
  • Sign up for a race
  • Try yoga
  • Challenge friends to healthy competitions
  • Ride a bike
  • Cardio kickboxing
  • Create a food diary for yourself
  • Stop weighing yourself its depressing
  • Focus on how your clothes fit
  • Limit sugar to 15g per day
  • Drink lots of water
  • Use essential oils for weightloss
  • Create a daily routine where exercise is always incorporated
  • Limit the amount of meat you consume
  • Avoid dairy it makes you fat like it does cows
  • Eat healthy fats such as avocado
  • Avoid negative people
  • Avoid stereotypes your bodies unique

10 ways to stay positive during the Coronavirus…

So many emotions, what’s going to happen, how will I afford my bill’s, how can I boost my immune system??

The three biggest questions being asked in today’s society. I would at least like to give you 10 ways to stay positive that may help you with all 3 situations.

  • Exercise– getting enough exercise will help you with your weight and stress management. Be sure to also make sure your children are getting adequate exercise as well.   • Drink smoothies– right now boosting the immune system would be the wisest thing you can do. Use powder supplements the body can easily absorb when you can.   • Stay on top of your mental health– if your not good for yourself your not good for nobody…be patient with yourself if you’re having a tough time.   • Be honest with all financial companies-Companies right now are aware of what’s going on in the world and really do want to help. You can’t hide create a list of your finances you can’t afford, call the companies and see what they can offer you at this time.   • Stay in touch with loved ones via phone, Skype, zoom, etc. -Now is not the time to be being upset with those you call family. Call your loved ones, check on them, tell them that you love them, and miss them. Reminisce on some good times and enjoy some great laughs! Create memories that will still last a lifetime.   • Get fresh air– Fresh air is required…whether its sitting on the porch, stepping outside, or opening all your windows. We need fresh air, water, and food hence again “fresh air” to survive.   • Keep a schedule of kids’ school information, assignment sheets, important numbers, etc– I always create my own sheet or binder for easy access to my children’s important school assignments, teachers, dates, etc. but that’s just me.   • Make sure everyone has a chore to do at home to keep things clean & organized– functioning mentally in a mess is dang near impossible for most people. Don’t yell every day, clean up after them, or keep reminding those kids to clean… just give them a job and a schedule.   • Create for yourself a support system of resources you can use if you need them– A beneficial resource list right now would be gold to the average person. At this time the world is in need of help but to have a personal list of important resources at your fingertips is only smart. Say for example you’re going over your budget and you can’t make your car payment next month. Instead of panicking you grab your list of companies that will help financially, call them up, & allow your anxiety to remain at bay. The reason for any list is always to make things easier in the end. I’d rather be smart from the very start because it also will depend on how your ending plays out…

Rewire your brain to achieve weightloss goals.

The struggle to get to your weightloss destination been a rocky road?

Let me just tell you this… I tried every weightloss drink, pill, rub, diet, etc. It really is no fun being big for no reason. I had no prior medical problems at the time just a pesky, annoying, influential sweet tooth surrounded by sweet lips.

The first step to any weightloss goal is be honest with yourself. What is truly holding you back? It’s you…correct? Nobody here but us two so let’s keep it real. Some people attempting weightloss like to make huge plates while others snack all throughout the day non-stop, others love to eat out way to much and then you have your impulse eaters who watch food shows or see fattening food commercials online and can’t resist making or buying it.

We all have our own sad story that placed us in an unhealthy state. Food makes you feel better, sugar plays on our brain like heroin causing what we believe is a much needed feeling of happiness! In reality those hormones of ours aren’t very smart and they don’t know nor care if we eat healthy good for you foods or drugs. At the time of ingestion it just can’t wait for the release of happy hormones.PicsArt_05-13-02.00.29

Afterwards the long term effects cause suffering, pain, depression, anxiety, anger, the blame game and then eventually regret.

Cortisol 

When a person is stressed out sometimes they choose to “stress eat” and that’s not what food is for. After stuffing your face the adrenal glands release the steroid hormone we call cortisol. Beware of Adrenal Burnout!PicsArt_05-13-02.06.25

Cortisol is the body’s primary stress hormone, and it plays a very huge role in many bodily functions, including controlling blood sugar levels. Life is stressful so controlling our levels are important for our mental health.PicsArt_05-13-02.09.32

The body relies on effective communication between the following three parts of the body to release the correct amount of cortisol:

  • the adrenal gland
  • the pituitary gland
  • the hypothalamus (which is part of the brain)

Between them, they stimulate the production of cortisol when the body needs it and block it when the levels need to drop back down. Well that’s what it does in a normal brain. In an unhealthy brain “mental health problems” it malfunctions like a computer with a virus that can crash any second.

Both too much and too little cortisol can have an adverse effect on the body.

High cortisol level symptoms

Excess cortisol could result from a tumor or as a side effect of some medications.

Too much cortisol can lead to Cushing’s syndrome. Symptoms include:

  • hypertension 
  • a flushed face
  • muscle weakness
  • increased thirst
  • urinating more frequently
  • changes in mood, such as feeling irritable or low
  • rapid weight gain in the face and abdomen
  • osteoporosis 
  • bruises or purple stretch marks appearing on the skin
  • decreased sex drive

Some people may also find that their periods become irregular or stop altogether.

Too much cortisol can also cause other conditions and symptoms, including:

  • high blood pressure
  • type 2 diabetes 
  • fatigue 
  • impaired brain function
  • infections

Low cortisol level symptoms

Too little cortisol could cause Addisons Disease & this condition includes:

  • fatigue
  • dizziness
  • muscle weakness
  • gradual weight loss
  • changes in mood
  • areas of the skin turning darker
  • low blood pressure

Dopamine 

Dopamine is a chemical found naturally in the human body. It is a neurotransmitter, meaning it sends signals from the body to the brain.dopaminebrain02

 

Dopamine plays a critical, vital, & essential part in controlling the movements a person makes, as well as their emotional responses. The correct balance of dopamine is vital for both physical and mental wellbeing as well as weightloss.

Your brain functions that affect your mood, your sleep, your memory, your learning, concentration, and motor control are influenced by the levels of dopamine in your body. A dopamine deficiency causes certain medical conditions such as depression. Depression slows metabolism therefore making weightloss dang near impossible for some.

A dopamine deficiency can be caused by a sudden drop in the amount of dopamine made by the body or a problem with the receptors in the brain.

The symptoms of a dopamine deficiency depend on the underlying cause. For example, a person with Parkinson’s disease will experience very different symptoms from someone with low dopamine levels due to prescription abuse, illegal drug abuse, or an obese person with a sugar addiction.

Some signs and symptoms of conditions related to a dopamine deficiency include:

  • muscle cramps, spasms, or tremors
  • aches and pains
  • stiffness in the muscles
  • loss of balance
  • constipation
  • difficulty eating and swallowing
  • weight loss or weight gain
  • gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
  • frequent pneumonia
  • trouble sleeping or disturbed sleep
  • low energy
  • an inability to focus
  • moving or speaking more slowly than usual
  • feeling fatigued
  • feeling demotivated
  • feeling inexplicably sad or tearful
  • mood swings
  • feeling hopeless
  • having low self-esteem
  • feeling guilt-ridden
  • feeling anxious
  • suicidal thoughts or thoughts of self-harm
  • low sex drive
  • hallucinations
  • delusions
  • lack of insight or self-awareness
 

It is also thought that drug abuse can affect dopamine levels. Studies have shown that repeated drug use could alter the thresholds required for dopamine cell activation and signalling.

Damage caused by drug abuse means these thresholds are higher and therefore it is more difficult for a person to experience the positive effects of dopamine. Drug abusers have also been shown to have significant decreases in dopamine D2 receptors and dopamine release.

Diets high in sugar and saturated fats can suppress dopamine, and a lack of protein in a person’s diet could mean they do not have enough l-tyrosine, which is an amino acid that helps to build dopamine in the body.

 Healthy weightloss here I come!

So one day I’m at work & one of my patients say “so Shamara why haven’t you told me your pregnant, I see how big your getting and I wanna know when the baby’s coming.”

I wanted to die so I said the only thing I could think of at that time that would make him “worry about himself”🤬I said O I had twins & lost them🤷🏾‍♀️ “don’t judge me” I was so embarrassed but It was my fault and I should have been! I immediately started going to the gym, making green smoothies and watching what I placed in my body plus nothing after 8 PM.

So who would have known, I lost weight! I saw results! I felt great! I guess it’s *TRUE* “you are what you eat” and your brain will remind your body to make you feel like it too. I was able to fit into my old cute outfits I just couldn’t part with.

I love my brain but it is so two faced turning on me everytime it gets used to my current weight. I fluctuate so we been through this time & time again now we finally have a great understanding. I actually had to rewire it “mind over matter” and my body, my health, and my love of life mattered.

So your body is meant to go into survival mode if and when you restrict food, calories, fat, etc.

Once in survival mode the brain sends messages through the body to “store as much fat as possible.” Say you don’t eat breakfast, have a salad for lunch then thereafter you have a smoothie. The brain says “hey we needs all of that” your body then stores it all even though it’s not much.women-with-7-differences1

The next example…your super hungry and you eat waffles, pizza, then for dinner you eat subway. First of all “you know your wrong” second of all the brain gets all excited & orders the body again to store it as fat, I mean it’s bossy & petty but very important! It’s on a mission to collect all the fat it can to protect you, then that leads to obesity, disease, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, imbalanced hormones and many other problems.
